Our bespoke French gite rental is situated in the heart of the Charente, offering a harmonious blend of comfort and authenticity.   Looking onto the Chateau des Chevaliers (one of two chateaus in our little village), our French countryside getaway allows you to soak up the vibrant tapestry of local life as you discover the enchanting local towns and their rich history. We extend a warm welcome to our home, and truly hope your stay goes beyond accommodation to a genuine cultural experience.

By Train

Take a train to Angoulême or Poitiers direct from Paris by TGV, followed by SNCF to Ruffec, and then rent a car.

By Road

From the North: Drive from Brittany or Paris to Tours and then follow the A10 towards Bordeaux, exiting to the N10 at “Poitiers Sud” (km 308). Follow the N10 south towards Angouleme, exiting for Sauze Vaussais on the D948. In Sauze, take the D54 towards Ruffec. Our village, Londigny, is signposted to the left just after you pass the Charente department sign. Follow this road all the way to the village, where you turn right at the first T-junction you come to, then left when you reach the Mairie, and right where the road forks. We are then the last house on the right as you leave the village again.

 

From the South: Take the A10 North from Bordeaux, and then take the right fork for Angouleme on the N10. Follow this North past Angouleme (signposted Poitiers). Exit for Sauze Vaussais on the D26. After approximately 5km, our village, Londigny, is signposted on the right. Take this turn and follow the road, through the switchback and over the River Peruse, until you are entering the village. Take the first (sharp) right, then left and we are the first house on the left.

 

Approximate travel times: 2h10 from Bordeaux, 4h10 from Paris, 2h30 from Nantes, 6h from Lyon, 4h45 from Toulouse.
