Our clients love us
We had a wonderful stay in this holiday home in the countryside. The location is ideal: quiet and green, yet easily accessible, about 10-15 minutes from town, shops, restaurants, and more. The cottage itself was spotless and equipped with everything we needed; this truly is a beautiful renovation. What made our stay extra special was the hospitality of Pamela and Tom – they were very friendly and attentive, and we immediately felt welcome. They were also very discreet, yet always available for questions, a chat, and tips about the area. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to enjoy peace, comfort, and warm hospitality.
This was my first visit to this 5 star Gite. If you want relaxation, peace an quiet and quality accommodation you have come to the right place. Pam and Tom are fantastic hosts. On a side note, on a clear night its a must for star gazers.
This was our second visit to Esprit Charantais and we will certainly return. It’s a fabulous place to relax and unwind - sitting on the patio with a glass of wine and taking in the beautiful garden or taking a dip in the pool to cool down in the heat. The gite is modern and stylish and had everything we needed and more. Tom and Pam are wonderful, attentive hosts and we had a wonderful time.
Fabulous stay. The accommodation was gorgeous and had everything including good Wi-Fi and the hosts Pamela & Tom were amazing and available if you needed anything. We will be recommending to our family & friends and are already planning our next visit. 🙏😊
We stayed there for almost three weeks and it was a fantastic stay. The couple who owned it were very pleasant and welcoming, and the apartment was new and tastefully decorated. It had two large double beds and bunk beds.
The bathroom was also new, and the kitchen was fully equipped and furnished – everything you could need.
In short, we often talk about trains that are late but never about those that are on time, so don't hesitate to book; you won't be disappointed.

What an amazing stay we had in a lovely part of the world. Pam and Tom were wonderful hosts, making us feel very welcome and providing lots of ideas of things to do locally. The cities of Angoulême and Poitiers are both within driving distance, and there are lots of local villages to visit, with plenty of walking and cycling options. I indulged my passion for photography. The accommodation is very comfortable and well appointed, Pam and Tom have done brilliantly renovating the property making it a self contained cottage and a perfect base from which to enjoy the delights of the Charente. Unquestionably, I’ll be back!
Absolutely fantastic place. Tom and Pam excellent hosts with great knowledge of the area. Our room was a brilliant size, spotless, cool and with a lovely seating area that had great view's. Couldn’t recommend it enough. Beautiful French feel with no compromise on comfort. Will definitely be back.
We stayed in the gite in early August. We wanted a tranquil stay and Esprit totally delivered. Pamela and Tom were really fabulous, friendly and helpful. The garden has got fruit and veg everywhere, great fun! The accommodation felt luxurious and was spotless. Loved it, and we'll be back 😁.
Returned for a 2nd visit this year after our first visit in July. Beautiful spacious accommodation finished to a very high standard. The grounds are gorgeous too and the pool is fantastic in hot weather. Look forward to returning next year with more of my family.
Had a fantastic time here in April, the gite is perfect for family’s or groups of friends and it has everything you need to make it a home from home. The area is so peaceful you can’t really do anything but relax and enjoy the stunning surroundings 😊 The hosts, Pam and Tom, were amazing nothing was too much trouble for them. Tom created a file of things to do in the area from local markets, cafes and restaurants to things further afield like distillery tours and shopping centres. I would definitely recommend a stay here and can’t wait to come back next year 😉
I spent a wonderful 4 days at Espirit Esprit Charentais and tbh I would have happily spent much longer, if time permitted.
The layout of the gite is designed with ease and comfort in mind. The bright spacious rooms are fitted out and decorated to a high standard and have lots of wee extras that gives it a warm, homely feel.
The bedroom I slept in was spacious and the bed super comfy. I particularly loved the electric black out blind, as I wasn’t wakened up early by daylight flooding through. The second bedroom is also spacious and perfect for family members/friends. Both rooms come equipped with what you would expect and a hairdryer (and the plugs are beside the mirrors). The lighting is also great for applying makeup in both the bathroom and bedrooms. Usually I find poor lighting and the lack of sockets beside the mirror to be the norm in other places I've stayed at. As well as a fantastic shower there is a bath, which was great. There is also a toilet on the ground level as well as upstairs, so no interruptions if you're bathing etc.
On the ground level the living space is very comfortable, and the fitted kitchen has a large fridge freezer, cooker and everything you would find at home i.e. crockery, glasses, pans, cooking utensils, teapot, cafetiere, corkscrew. There is a table with chairs outside, and I loved sitting there first thing in the morning drinking coffee, taking in the views, whilst listening to the birds and again at night stargazing. The absence of light pollution means the stars are very vibrant on a clear night. The drive is flanked on both sides by beautifully landscaped gardens, with a Cherry tree, Nectarine tree and a wonderful array of flowers and bushes which give off a wonderful scent in the air.
The surrounding area is gorgeous, with fields upon fields of sunflowers bobbing about in the gentle breeze. It was glorious and joyous to see. Having a pool was wonderful way to cool down after a long walk/cycle in the breathtaking natural surroundings.
If you are looking to go further afield, there is plenty of interesting and fun things to do all within 20 mins-1 hours' drive away. An array of leaflets is provided. There is also a supermarket about 20 min drive away, where you can stock up on everything you need for your stay.
The hosts Pam and Tom are very friendly and welcoming, but not intrusive. I could tell they are passionate about making your stay with them as enjoyable as possible and have paid great attention to detail. They were keen to get feedback in case there was anything they hadn’t thought of. Personally, I couldn’t think of anything.
Espirit Charentaise is set in a beautiful location, and I left feeling relaxed and happy.
